Introduction
I'm Samuele Samaritani, from Lega Pauper Ferrara and this weekend I top8'ed and won the IPT Paupergiano Reggiano, organized by Lega Pauper Reggio Emilia. I decided to bring my favorite deck, Jund Wildfire. This is the deck I feel most comfortable with, making it the ideal choice for achieving a strong result. I wanted to try to earn points to be able to win the invitation to the Top Pauper Player (TPP), among the other options available I had thought of bringing Mono Red Rally but I feared being devastated by countless Krark-Clan Shaman's.
I've actually seen a lot of them in the tournament hall…

The decklist is fairly standard, but I'll now highlight the small differences compared to what other players are running. I know, I don't play Makeshift Munitions and that makes me a sinner. However, I don't really appreciate this card in this period because I often consider it a win more card. Galvanic Blast allow me to surprise the opponent suddenly by proposing a removal or four damages on the face to close the game. In the early stages of the game the Makeshift Munitions wouldn't let me effectively kill several creatures that I instead want removed as soon as possible…such as: Delver of Secrets, Priest of Titania, Goblin Tomb Rider, Faerie Seer, Arbor Elf and many others.
Pulse of Murasa in two copies against very oppressive burn decks, thanks to it I can recover Krark-Clan Shaman to clear the board against Mono Red Rally and I can reuse Refurbished Familiar against Mono Red Madness…hoping he has nothing strong to discard.
Nyxborn Hydra has been replaced by Gixian Infiltrator's and I agree with the change. Gixian Infiltrator does a lot of damage in the short term and this makes it very good against many decks.
Tournament
Round 1: Grixis Affinity

Game 1
He outvalues me very quickly and I decide to concede in fifteen minutes.
Game 2 and 3
were very similar because Troublemaker Ouphe exiles bridges, thank to this my opponent had not black mana.

Round 2: High Tide

Game 1
I cast a Refurbished familiar on the second turn, I cast the second Refurbished Familiar on the third turn. The two creatures push damage, and I won the game because the opponent brick. I was so lucky.
Game 2
I cast a Refurbished Familiar and a Gixian Infiltrator in the early game. They pushed a lot of damage, and in the meantime I was with two untapped red lands to bluff two Red Elemental Blast. Finally, a Galvanic Blast sealed the deal.

Round 3: UW Familiars

During this match I must try to play quickly to have time to play G2 and G3. The match is not easy because he can quickly gain an advantage thanks to the Mulldrifter's.
Game 1
My opponent manages to protect the Sunscape Familiar thanks to a negate cast to counter my Cast Down. After a couple of Ephemerate's on Mulldrifter's and after a couple of Prohibits on my removals I decide to concede.
Game 2 and 3
were similar. Cleansing Wildfire on Azorius Chancery on turn two is the move to gain advantage on my opponent, next I manage to draw many interactions thanks to the value generated by Ichor Wellspring and Fanatical Offering. Cast Down on Murmuring Mystic deals the game because Gixian Infiltrator and Writhing Chrysalis were too big to handle.
vs UW Familiars
Sideboard In
(7)- 4Red Elemental Blast
- 3Duress
Sideboard Out
(7)- 2Pulse of Murasa
- 2Krark-Clan Shaman
- 1Blood Fountain
- 1Gixian Infiltrator
- 1Eviscerator's Insight
The cards i put post side are really strong so we have to remove a lot of cards from the main. I decided to remove Krark-Clan Shaman because I decided to focus on single removals, I don't play Toxin Analyses so it's not always convenient to sacrifice three artifacts to remove Sunscape Familiar.

Round 4: UB Faeries - Simone Marzatico

Game 1
The match starts well as I cast a Cast Down on a Fearie Seer in the second round…this prevents the Deep Hour Ninja from entering the field and gaining advantage. My opponent doesn't see Thorn of the Black Rose and therefore I manage to maintain an overwhelming advantage thanks to the usual Ichor Wellspring and Fanatical Offering.
Game 2
My opponent solves an Okiba-Gang Shinobi that makes me discard two cards. However, thanks to a Writhing Chrysalis I come back in the game. This single card manages to keep its entire board and therefore I save time to draw solutions.

Round 5: Mono U Terror - Giacomo Lancini

Game 1
He starts the game with a Delver of the Secrets and thanks to some Tolarian Terror's he wins the game on turn five.
Game 2
I decide to mulligan to try to find a Nihil Spellbomb…I find it. I start the game with a Nihil Spellbomb, that card allows me to exile the graveyard on turn 3 and in this way I gain two turns in which I start to draw cards. I draw a Duress that allows me to remove a Counterspell on the opponent's hand and thanks to this I start solving Writhing Chrysalis.
Game 3
The plan is the same.

Top 4
Semifinals: Jund Wildfire - Lorenzo Aldegheri

I was extremely tired and, to be honest, getting drunk the night before at a graduation party was starting to affect me.
Throughout the three games I made some mistakes and forgot multiple triggers.
Game 1
I lost because I couldn't follow my opponent's advantage.
Game 2 and 3
I cast some Troublemaker Ouphe's that allowed me to remove my opponent's black mana. Thanks to this situation I started attacking with Writhing Chrysalis and thanks to the topdeck of a Cast Down I won.
Overall, I feel like I played quite poorly; emotion and exhaustion had clearly taken over.

(5)- 2Galvanic Blast
- 2Krark-Clan Shaman

Finals: Mono Red Rally - Micheal Ghiselli

Game 1
I cast a Krark-Clan Shaman in the early game and I sacrificed two lands to destroy all of the opponent's attackers. This move allowed me to gain a lot of time and cast a pulse of murasa which allowed me to recover the shaman.
Game 2
I lost in two minutes. Mono Red Rally on the play is too dangerous.
Game 3
I mulligan two times in search of a Krark-Clan Shaman. I find it and I win the game thank to the shaman and thanks also to a triple Refurbished Familiar on the same turn.

Final Thoughts
I'd like to thank all my teammates from the Lega Pauper Ferrara for the advice and all the pranks: including Paolo Cosma Gennari, Andrea Crampi, Enrico Govoni, Enrico Previati, Michele Barzanti, Michele Baroni, and Paolo Baroni. The deck is truly powerful and allowed me to win despite the hangover from the night before! A special thanks to Marcello Luciani, who recently graduated and for making me eat a lot of fried gnocchi.
